Ian Robinson heads up the Emerging Products Group in BT. Ian has launched a new portfolio of retail and wholesale broadband services delivered over an innovative fixed wireless solution. Ian has full P&L responsibility and has led BT’s wimax activity. Ian has also launched BT Retail's symmetric broadband services (SDSL).

Ian has worked in IT & Telecommunications for 20 years, 10 at BT. Prior to his current role he was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for BT Openworld. Ian was leading on key new technology initiatives including home hubs and bandwidth on demand services. Before BT Openworld Ian was the Chief Information Officer for Genie (now part of MMO2) where he led the technology rollout of Mobile Internet services to 10 countries. He initially developed his career as a specialist in project and programme management working across the Retail, Banking, Engineering and Entertainment sectors. Throughout Ian’s career he has focussed on delivery and innovation and has won several CEO awards in recognition of his achievements.

Ian has a Masters Degree in Telecoms Business from University College London and an Honours Degree in Computer Science from De Montfort University.

Ian lives with his young family in a picturesque Berkshire Village and enjoys playing golf when time allows.
