This event is a must for anyone interested in the global DJ or VJ culture, live global web-streaming, London’s friendship with Tokyo, or for all you music/ visuals aficionados wanting some great Sunday afternoon entertainment at the superb Deluxe Gallery in London’s famous Hoxton Square.

Schedule:

>>>15:00–16:00 UK Time (23:00–00:00 in Tokyo)
Talks on the impact of Japanese culture on VJing, chaired by VJ Anyone.
Japan in recent years has been pivotal in the development of VJing worldwide, especially for it's contribution to VJ software (MotionDive, RC Fuse, etc.) and prominent figures such as Glamoove, MotorDrive and Tomographer. Japan is also the first country were VJing has hit the mainstream. Many VJs in Japan are sponsored by top brands like Nike, have a presence on Shibuya's multi-story video billboards and of course residencies at the biggest nightclubs and music festivals.

To discuss the issues surrounding VJ culture in Japan and it’s relationship with the UK’s DJ/VJ scene, VJ Anyone will be joined by a prestigious selection of special guests:

  • Charles Kriel (Resident VJ for Radio 1)
  • Addictive TV (London-based VJ label who performed this year in Japan with Howie B)
  • D-Fuse (London-based VJ collective signed to Japanese VJ label <www.nowondvd.net>)
  • Sanfrandisco (one of the few Japanese VJs to have successfully integrated into the London VJ scene)
  • Sapo (Japanese VJ active in London for the past year)

>>>16:00–16:15 UK Time (00:00–00:15 in Tokyo)
Live link-up with Samurai FM from the Ageha club in Tokyo.
Samurai.fm is a new breed of net radio set up to promote the Japanese electronic music scene internationally and the international scene in Japan, featuring established and upcoming artists from around the world.

>>>16:15–16:45 (00:15–00:45 in Tokyo)
Talk about the impact of Internet technologies on the audio-visual business.
Dom (founder of d2consulting, the official Big Beat Boutique webcaster) will give an informal presentation about the increasing and often controversial use of the Internet in the audio-visual market. With 6 years of experience in the field, Dom has worked as a live webcaster for clients ranging from No.10 and Glastonbury to Shell and Sony. He founded the twin brother to mp3.com (m3u.com) in 1997 and is a passionate proponent of Multicast.

>>>16:45–22:00 (00:45–06:00 in Tokyo)
